Desktop Specialist at AB Bank Zambia Limited

Responsibilities:
Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to microcomputer hardware and
software systems and provides technical assistance to end users in
operation of hardware and software
Training of users in using Microsoft (MS) operating systems, MS
office tools and banking software
Assist in network maintenance and management for local and remote
servers and provide support for PBX systems, devices and
applications
Documentation of problems, work activities, configuration data
(system data) and maintaining of pc working knowledge
Makes site visits to Town offices (branches) or other locations to
provide computer support.

Qualifications:

Minimum two year experience in a directly related position
Knowledge of Software Office 2003 (incl. outlook mail client),
operating systems (e.g. Windows 7, 2000, 2003, 2008 ,XP),
Browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and other Microsoft applications
Knowledge on PC and server hardware (system with all peripheral
equipment including but not limited to laptops, notebooks and printers)
with knowledge of common Microsoft applications
Knowledge of PC networking (TCP/IP)
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally in English
Evidence of a willingness to take responsibility and work on own
initiative
Flexibility and operational readiness
Openness to IT and business processes
Communicative personality (good written and verbal communication
skills)
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines consistently

Database Administrator at AB Bank Zambia Limited

AB Bank Zambia Limited is a newly opened bank with the mission to
improve access to a broad range of financial services for the majority
of Zambian businesses and their owners in a sustainable and efficient
manner.
The bank has the following vacancies in the IT department;
1 Database Administrator: Responsibilities:
Collecting requests from across the business departments.
Testing scenarios on test environment
Functioning as 2nd level support for questions related to the business
functionality of the banking application
Ensure that all pc’s of end-user have the same version and the latest
updates
Maintain all scripts in SSRS up-to-date and its maintenance
Collecting the acceptance declarations (UAT) from the business side,
in case of new modules/systems
Documentation of all Banking application related problems and solutions

Qualifications:

Computer Science Degree +3 in ICT skills (or equivalent).
Sound experience in Visual Basic-Visual Studio .NET, macros Excel
would be a considerable asset
High skills of Reporting Services SQL Server, and SQL Server
(Advanced skilled in SQL Server Administrator preferred)
Programming skills an asset
Good knowledge of new technologies
Assets considerable knowledge in management and finances,
accounting
Evidence of ability to collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful
project implementation
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally in English
Evidence of a willingness to take responsibility and work on own
initiative
Basic accounting skills and process description
Evidence of Openness to learning new technologies and methodologies
Ability to facilitate group discussions regarding technical issues
